Nokia N81 Firmware 10.0.058 & 10.0.035 Released!

Whoa! After a few weeks of release, Nokia has already a new software/firmware for N81. So if you've got one, it's highly recommended that you get this update, especially if you use WLAN often.

Nokia N95 8GB, N81, 5610 & 5310 XpressMusic Pics!

Wow! While walking at a mall here in my place (Manila) 2 hours ago, I Finally saw Nokia N95 8GB, N81, 5610 and 5310 XpressMusic phones in flesh! Unexpectedly, N95 8GB really caught my attention, even though it looks almost exactly the same as its predecessor (instead of N81). The sliding mechanism seems really improved (no more clicking sounds whatsoever men). Aside from its larger screen, the phone kinda looked smaller (even if it's not) vs the normal N95 because of the black casing.

Moving on with Nokia N81, this multimedia computer (LOL) is relatively slimmer and smaller than the latter and looks a few millimeters smaller than my trusty old 3250. The smooth Navi-wheel (the one that works a la iPod scroll pad) to my surprise, clicks too, just like a normal d-Pad. Also, if you thought the numeric and dedicated gaming buttons are static, they are not. The keys simply works like your standard keypad (same feel as N76's, the computer done beautifully, LOL). Now comes music, as what you would normally expect from such centric device, N81's loudspeakers are damn LOUD guys, louder than 6233, N95, and N73me!

Now, let's talk about the XpressMusic babies. Nokia 5310 is a very slim mid-end phone equipped with a built-in 3.5mm audio jack, 2Mpx camera and dedicated music keys to name a few. The screen looks sufficient and satisfactory for its class. The navigation keys, works very well considering the sexy profile.

Lastly, Nokia 5610 XpressMusic is a mid to high end music device boasting a quite impressive feature list like 3Mpx camera with auto-focus and dual led flash. Nokia 5610 also has dedicated music keys like what most of XpressMusic phones have. But unfortunately, it doesn't have the built-in 3.5mm jack, meaning we have to use the included in the box adapter. The phone looks very trendy and sophisticated at the same time, especially the blue one. One interesting cool feature of this phone which makes it a bit special is the Music Slider which makes switching between music player, FM radio (with RDS, btw) and standby screen with a breeze and in STYLE! Guess what, again, a la iPod! This time, the screen moves on its side, depending on how you switched the music slider, either left or right! I think this one is going to be a bestseller..

For guys and gals living here in the Philippines, the Nokia 5610 will cost you P16T++ while his smaller sister cost 14T++ with 1GB microSD. Sadly, prices for both N95 8GB, N81 and N81 8GB are still yet to be known, the reason the sales reps gave me was - they just came in 2 days ago. YAY!

After the launch of N-Gage later this year, the full N-Gage application will be available for download. Players can then try all N-Gage games for free and buy only the ones they want.

The estimated retail price of the Nokia N81 is 360 EUR before subsidies or taxes. The Nokia N81 8GB is expected to retail for 430 EUR before subsidies or taxes.

Nokia unveils four devices optimized for entertainment, music and games

Nokia today unveiled four new mobile devices specifically optimized for entertainment, music and games. Each device offers dedicated music or gaming keys, expanded memory, large screens and extended battery performance to provide quick and easy access to entertainment content. The devices range in price from 225 to 560 EUR and are expected to begin shipping later this year.

Nokia N81 and Nokia N81 8GB: Entertainment made simple

With dedicated music and gaming keys, 3.5 mm headphone connector and 3G and WLAN connectivity, the Nokia N81 multimedia computer is a true mobile entertainment powerhouse. With a 2-megapixel camera and a bright 2-inch QVGA screen with up to 16 million colors, the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2007 with an estimated retail price of 225 EUR before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia 5610 XpressMusic comes ready to rock with an iconic Music Slider key making music easy to access with a flick of the thumb. The Nokia 5610 XpressMusic offers crystal clear sound and up to 22 hours of music playback and memory with capacity for 3,000 songs on an optional 4GB microSD card**. More than just a phone and music player, the Nokia 5610 XpressMusic features a high-quality 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash. Music accessories - More music for all ears

Recognizing the increasing role of mobile phones in music consumption, Nokia and globally-recognized audio manufacturers, including Altec Lansing, JBL, and Philips will offer a range of music accessories matching the XpressMusic handsets in design and functionality. The partner accessories, including headphones, docking stations and speakers, will be identifiable by "For Nokia XpressMusic Phones."

Also introduced today were two Nokia branded enhancements. The Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-503, compatible with Nokia XpressMusic phones with stereo Bluetooth support and the small, but powerful Nokia Pocket Speakers MD-6, compatible with Nokia XpressMusic phones with 2.5mm / 3.5mm connectors.

* Capacity based on H.264 750-Kbps video at 320-by-240 resolution, combined with 128-Kbps audio. Capacity is half of this with H.264 1.5 Mbps video at 640-by-480 resolution, combined with 128-Kbps audio (near-DVD quality).

** Capacity based on 3:45 per song with 48 Kbps eAAC+ (M4A) encoding on the Nokia Music Manager.
