Have you seen this TV ad yet? Well if you haven't and a big fan of Nokia's XpressMusic line, here's a dose for ya! It shows the new Nokia 5310 and the best Symbian XpressMusic smartphone to date, Nokia 5700 Transformers Edition.



By the way, the guy in that commercial kinda like reminds me of my current hairstyle.. Though we definitely do not share the same height, i'm tad taller IMHO lol! Hehe.

Have you seen this phone in flesh yet? If you wanted to but never had the chance lately, check out this video. The Nokia 5610 is one of the latest offerings from Nokia under the XpressMusic branding, it boasts a 3.2mpx auto-focus camera with dual LED flash and so far, best music player present on S40 platform. Regrettably, it does not have a 3.5mm audio jack built-in like what its smaller brother 5310 XpressMusic have.

Nokia 5710 XpressMusic - For Real?!

Is Nokia really cooking up 5710 right at this very moment? How I wish.. Here are some more proofs of its existence. Pay attention to the screenshots of the software version, it does look indeed Symbian 9.3 version. See, it shows horizontal Symbian Application Manager instead of the traditional vertical.

Alright guys, it seems that Nokia will be announcing an identical looking handset very soon with major improvements on the camera department and more. I'm not sure whether are my sources that accurate at the moment but according to them, the supposedly revamped Nokia 5700 Transformers Edition shown at my last post is actually its successor and not the same 5700 with 2Mpx or improved camera (which is unlikely for Nokia to do, announcing same model with new features). The said rumored device is said to be indexed as "Nokia 5710 XpressMusic"(?) and will boast as said a 3.2Mpx autofocus camera and hear this, built-in GPS plus newer OS being Symbian 9.3 to top off! Geez, talk about my dream phone.. What else can I ask for? Wi-fi maybe.. Ooh of course, how can I forget the standard 3.5mm audio jack! Yeah viperkid, aren't you askin' too much? Anyway, here are some more leaked photos.

OMG!!! Is this for REAL?! Or the images below are just photoshop masterpieces? Well if you ask me, I have to say it's pretty genuine! Just in case these are untouched/unedited pics of the upcoming Nokia 5700 Transformers Edition, I've gotta say that my dream of having an XpressMusic branded Symbian phone with 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera feature packed in with my favorite TWIST form factor might just come true anyway! Take a closer look how the camera modules of the normal 5700 and the Transformers version differs, they indeed look quite different. What's more interesting is that the camera module found on Transformers edition looks almost the same as the one installed on N73, which makes this blog post even more amusing!!!! =)

But wait, if this is going to be released very soon and will really be equipped with 3.2Mpx AF camera, I'll be torn apart between the latter and Nokia n81!!! I'm not sure if i'm willing to sacrifice camera performance and the smart twist design against the COOL new N-Gage gaming platform, built-in 3.5mm jack, VGA 15fps video capture and a more hi-fi quality sound like N91's.. Hmmm...

Nokia 5700 Transformers Edition

At last! We have more live shots of the revamped-look Nokia 5700 - the Transformers Edition! It's already available in th market, well at least in China (for now, waiting here in Manila). As you can see below, they come in two variants, first with blue trimmings whilst red for the other one. According to my source, apart from the color, this edition has no difference in terms of features compared with the first released red/khaki/black-white Nokia 5700. While some of my sources claim that this one has a 3.5mm jack built-in (which I highly doubt), but that would be a definite plus for new buyers and minus for early customers. Back to the pics, it shows us that the graphic themes were specially created to match the overall look of the phone - COOL! Except for the bundled earphones which looks the same as the original version - not so cool.. The Nokia 5700 Transformers edition in-box package comes with of course a Transformers phone strap and Transformers branded extra thin crystal case - WOW! =) Talk about being a fanatic of that movie.. I'm sure kids, teens and young adults will love this edition! Ooh, I can't wait to get my hands on with the black-blue variant!

Nokia 5700 XpressMusic Reviewed!

Folks over at SoftPedia recently published a rather comprehensive review of the latest XpressMusic phone Nokia 5700. I really wanted a detailed review of this particular model since 3 months ago, luckily someone did it (aside from ZDNET)! After I've read the verdict, I can (maybe) say that 5700 is indeed the best XpressMusic branded device from Nokia to date. Not to mention the actual comments I've seen from different forums everywhere which mostly had great and positive points about N5700. They also provided a sample video captured by the phone itself, so we'll have an idea what the quality is like. The video looks good enough, at least the resolution is quite satisfactory at 320 x 240 pixels (if you ask me). Meaning, uploading 'em to YouTube will be a better experience compared to my 3250!


The reviewer also mentioned that the bundled earphone is better than those of 3250's. Bare in mind that sound quality mostly depends on the quality of the earphones plugged-in on a device. I myself use an A4Tech-MK620 in-ear canal earphones. The best quality-price ratio I've ever used! Mind you, it only costs around US$10! I highly recommend A4Tech earphones. Okay, enough about that earphone stuff..

Impressions

Even if the phone didn't quite impress me at first through its design, the moment I started using it I was pleasantly surprised. There's no other Nokia handset that works that fast and with no crashes. I'm not too much into the music thing, but Nokia 5700 impressed me through its vibes. This a very good move from Nokia which managed to mix the functionality of its operating system with the exceptionally good multimedia experience.


The Good

Nokia 5700 has been masterfully developed by the Finnish company and excels in all chapters. It has good sound, good signal reception, exceptional operating system, excellent connectivity tools, powerful CPU and above average battery. Furthermore, all the above come for a cheap price as the phone can be acquired for around USD 400 in most countries.


The Bad

The only thing that I think it’s worth mentioning is the 5-way joystick which is very hard to handle and the mediocre 2 Megapixel camera. There's always place for better, but Nokia 5700 Xpress Music doesn't seem to have any important flaws that we should complain about.

Live Pics of Nokia 5300 XpressMusic Black Edition

Wow! Take a look at the new spanking 5300 - in all black! If you ask me, then I'd say that this color is absolutely better than the original ones, especially the red and white combination. It's quite obvious that Nokia has been implementing a color coding stuff (like an all black for their music centric devices). I think it would be better if this particular version uses the new S40 5th edition platform!
