emTube - The Better YouTube Player For S60 Phones!

Since Sittiphol Phanvilai's MobiTubia were announced as the grand prize winner at Forum Nokia's Open C Challenge, a number of competitors (if I may say) are just around corners. Apparently the latter (is in progress) and Samir's YTPlayer aren't that fully featured yet to play most of the YouTube videos currently found on their desktop version.

So if you are looking for a more featured YouTube player for your S60 phone, save your time and look no further - here comes emTube - emTube allows you to browse (by search, by featured video, by top rated videos and by most viewed videos), view and download YouTube videos or playback a locally stored file.

emTube is an application for Symbian S60 3rd edition phones that allows you to:

  • Search and browse videos on YouTube.
  • Download selected videos onto your phone.
  • Stream FlashVideo files directly from YouTube.
  • Play local FlashVideo files.

  • Other features:
    - Audio and position control during playback.
    - Normal and full screen (portrait and landscape mode) video playback.
    - Ability to use built in accelerometer to rotate video between portrait/landscape mode.

    YTPlayer - YouTube Player For Your Mobile!

    YTPlayer is a beta version of a YouTube's video player.

    Before using it you need to install the FlashLite 3 Player on your phone.

    This version is only for testing purpose, it load and stream videos from YouTube. Choose a video by using the joypad.




    What to expect in the next versions:
    • Allow multiple words for search (in this beta you can enter only one word)
    • Add controls (play, pause, rewind)
    • Allow returning to video menu selection (now you have to re-open the file)
    • Add more services (dailymotion, google video...)
    • Improve the audio/video synchronization
    • Make it work in portrait and landscape modes (now it's optimized only for landscape orientation)
    • And a lot other things..
